By understanding what it is that individuals are trying to accomplish through this violence, perhaps we can come up with different ways to achieve the same feelings of worthiness and respect. . When people look into criminology, they may initially be surprised by how expansive the field is. In this area, many people are able to come together in order to look at how society and crime interacts on an intimate level. The crimes that take place are not looked at and analyzed in order to come up with ways to prevent the crime in the area, rather the police force is able to catch the criminals and hopefully take them out of the society in which they were raised or committing the crimes. By allowing one person to get away with a crime because of a victim mentality would be a slap in the face to the people that do work to succeed.
